Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a brain or heart surgeon. Saving lives and helping people was something I’ve always wanted to do. After several years in the military while working at one of the largest hospitals, Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, I decided I did not want to have anything to do with medicine. I saw too many things that turned me off about healthcare and medicine. It was all about drugs and surgery. I saw too many young soldiers get cut on and drugged into zombie like states. Too many needless surgeries and prescription drugs.

When I got out of the Air Force, I hurt my back really bad. I met a Chiropractor while taking a Dale Carnegie class. This young Chiropractor noticed right away how my back was messed up. He offered to treat me at a discounted student rate. I could not believe how much better I felt after just one treatment!  After a few more sessions, I felt new again and knew I had found my calling. I wanted to be a Chiropractor!

I was not really sure if this was the career I should pursue. Was I smart enough?   Was this going to be my mission in life? Was this my destiny? Was this an answer to my prayers? Or did God have other plans for me? I wanted to be really sure that I was making the right decision. Only time would tell. I prayed and prayed and the rest, as the saying goes, is history. That was over thirty five years ago. I’ve been very blessed to have helped thousands of patients. I’m looking forward to the next thirty years!
