The slogan, “I Hang, I Stretch, I’m Pain Free” was inspired by the many companies that use slogans to create brand awareness such as WalMart’s- Save Money. Live Better. I had been wanting to create my own slogan for some time now and just the other day, while at the movies with my children, an advertisement for Jeep came on the screen and then it came to me, “I Hang, I Stretch, I’m Pain Free!”
I can’t say enough good things about Inversion Therapy (hanging upside down) and how it has helped get rid of my neck and low back pains.
It has also helped thousands of my patients now that I have been using this technique for almost twenty years.
This website came about because there are millions of people who suffer with back and neck problems and they need to learn about this technique. I wanted to share these results with the world. I felt the best way to get this information out to the world was to write an e- book and promote it on a website.
It took me three and a half years to research and write the book, HANGING OUT FOR THE HEALTH OF IT. I also just completed my second book, HANGING OUT PAIN FREE-105 Natural Pain Relief Techniques which is available at Amazon.
You can read an excerpt from HANGING OUT FOR THE HEALTH OF IT here on this website….look for the article/blog post…Commonly Asked Questions about Inversion Therapy.
I just want to iterate that at first you may not understand why hanging upside down is so good for your spine. But it’s a fun and simple yet extremely effective way to stretch and decompress the human body, specifically the spine and discs. All it takes is just one minute a day for maintenance. If you have a disc problem you may need to hang for one minute three to six times a day until the problem resolves.
Here’s the main reason why hanging upside down is so effective for treating disc herniations and many other back and spine problems. Gravity causes compression to the body when you are sitting or standing.
Hanging upside down will decompress the spine due to the compression effects of gravity. It’s that simple. Nothing else will reverse the effects of gravity like Inversion Therapy. Nothing. Go to www.teeter-inversion.com and check out Roger Teeter’s website. It has great information and is the BEST WEBSITE for information about Inversion Therapy.
So if you want a simple, fast, effective and inexpensive way to treat and or prevent spinal problems……start hanging! It’s as fast, simple and effective. One minute a day to a healthier, happier and longer life!

I am happy my wife found your comments on FB and we checked out your page. Wonderful information. We bought an inversion table several years ago because of back pain that I have had for nearly 20 years. My chiropractor found just recently found that I had broken L2 sometime ago may explain the back pain. LOL. He has helped much more than any other Chiro has up till current. But am am thoroughly amazed to see you explaining the benefits of ‘hanging around’. I see the add for the ankle hold model, but have been told to try and get a knee hold unit if possible as the knees have a stronger joint than the ankle. Is this true or just opinion?

John…welcome and glad your wife found my comments on FB. Inversion is pretty amazing as evidence by helping hundreds of people prevent needless spinal surgery. There are other units like the one I’m using hanging from the thighs. I will be posting my own videos as soon as I get my webmaster problem cleared up.
PS Thank you for your comments. Please help spread the word and pass on this site to others.

GET AN INVERSION MACHINE BECAUSE DR GONZALEZ WAS THE FIRST TO INTRODUCE ME TO IT. AFTER TRYING A COMBINATION OF HEAT AND COLD AND INVERSION THERAPY, I CANT STRESS OR TELL YOU HOW MUCH BETTER MY LOWER BACK FEELS. IN MY JOB I SIT BEHIND A COMPUTER SCREEN A LOT, TOO MUCH AND TIME CAN FLY BY AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT I HAVE BEEN SITTING 6 TO 9 HOURS A DAY.
OFTEN TIMES ONLY TAKING A SHORT BREAK TO EAT. THAT’S WHERE MY PROBLEMS GOT WORSE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE TOO MUCH SITTING AND A BAD GOLF SWING THAT MADE MATTERS WORSE.
ANY HOW, THE INVERSION METHOD HAS BEEN THE BEST PAIN RELIEVER. I NEVER IMAGINED IT WOULD BE THAT GOOD. IF I CAN JUST DISCIPLINE MYSELF TO GET ON IT AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY MY LOWER BACK PAIN GOES AWAY. IT’S LIKE NOTHING ELSE, SOME TIME WE DON’T TAKE ACTION UNTIL THE PAIN DRIVES US TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. AND FOR MOST PEOPLE INCLUDING MYSELF THE EASIEST SOLUTION WAS TO TAKE A PILL.
I REALIZED THAT I DON’T NEED TO BE TAKING ADVIL OR MUSCLE RELAXANTS IN ORDER TO FREE MYSELF FROM THE TERRIBLE BACK PAIN I EXPERIENCE. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE UNFORTUNATE ONES WHO LIVES WITH NAGGING BACK PAIN, OR SUFFER FROM A WEAK BACK, OR OLD BACK INJURY AS I DID FROM WATER SKIING AND PLAYING GOLF, NOW I RELY ON INVERSION THERAPY, TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE DEALT WITH FOR 10 YEARS. I FEEL A LOT BETTER, THERE ARE DAYS THE PAIN GOES AWAY COMPLETELY.

Glad you are off the pain pills as they can cause high blood pressure, liver and stomach problems not to mention serious side effects like gastrointestinal bleeding which can be fatal. The longer you use prescription drugs or over the counter pills the higher your risks.
Tape a small reminder note to your computer screen to get up and hang for 60 seconds three times a day and you will not only feel the difference but prevent your back from getting into serious trouble.

The decompression thing is the traction issue which happens on the teeter tables but not with all kinds of inversion (like there is no traction doing a yoga headstand even though that is also inverted).
Similarly we can even get traction upright like bar-hanging (though you have to do back and neck separately) or with those inflatable neck and spine brace things Dr Ho markets.

Tyciol….yes you are correct. A Yoga headstand is inverted but you DO NOT get traction. I used to do that and messed up my neck…compression to the discs. As for the upright traction….it is not as effective as when inverted on an inversion machine. Thanks for your feedback.

I had been going to chiropractors on and off since 1989. How do you reckon that I never heard of inversion therapy until 2008? And it was in the most unlikely of forums: an online bowling discussion group. I’ve been inverting with a Teeter table for almost two years and it’s hard for me to think of a better purchase I’ve ever made.

great blog thank you

Davenycity….You are welcome and glad you liked it. Even if you do not have any back or neck pain it is a great way to prevent compression and degenerative changes to your spine and discs. It is also a great way to increase blood flow to the brain, relax and so much more!

I bought an inversion table to ease the chronic pain I have from lower spine compression. I know the virtues of inversion therapy but feel I could learn so much more from Dr. Gonzalez’ book, “Hanging Out For The Health Of It” but I can’t seem to find this book anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy one?
